Afghanistan’s star spinner, Rashid Khan, has made history by becoming the first bowler from his nation to achieve the milestone of 200 wickets in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He reached this major career landmark during the first ODI match against Bangladesh, which was played in Abu Dhabi. His performance in the match was impressive, where he finished with bowling figures of 3 wickets for 38 runs in his full 10-over spell, taking the important wickets of Bangladesh skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Jaker Ali, and Nurul Hassan.

This achievement solidifies Rashid Khan’s status as one of the world’s leading spinners. In just 115 ODIs, he has now claimed a total of 202 wickets over 107 innings. His bowling record is remarkable, boasting an outstanding career average of 20.28 and a tight economy rate of 4.23. His best-ever ODI performance remains a stunning 7 wickets for only 18 runs.

Rashid Khan’s record places him far ahead of other Afghan bowlers.
